 party time

 beekeeper

yes bee folks, Swarm season in Omaha has arrived.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/9P_9066EK1g" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/v/9P_9066EK1g</a>

This is an ornery bunch too.

we had the queen and she got out like 4 times total.

I had everything then realized my queen catchers were not in my toolbox.  AARRGGHH!

Luckily, I had a good helper and Gary went to grab one of his queen catchers while I kept her in a temporary holder.

so now, I will pick up the girls about sunset tonight and take them to the 'nursery'.  After about 1 to 2 days,  I will release the queen.  Then after about 10 more days, they will be moved into their new, permanent hive at the conservation bee yard.

Ahhh the bees are back.   party time

Congrads!     party time    I'm glad to hear the swarms have arrived. I caught another one here yesterday. Swarming is slowing down here, at least until some blooming gets better. WE NEED RAIN IN TEXAS BIG TIME!  I have 2.56 inches of moisture for 2011 and haven't had any real useful rain since October 2010!     hairpull
